Patna: Regarding the Panchayat elections in Bihar, According to sources, the first phase of the Panchayat elections will start on September 29. The elections will be conducted in a total of 11 phases. It is being told that the Bihar government has accepted the proposal of the Election Commission. The special thing is that the Election Commission has also completed its preparations for the elections. Along with this, there is another big piece of information that on August 24, notification regarding Panchayat elections will be issued. It is worth noting that for the first time in Bihar, Panchayat elections will be held through EVMs.
Earlier, the Election Commission had given instructions that the printing of ballot paper used in EVMs for Panchayat elections would be done at the district level. According to the commission, elections to the four posts of Mukhiya, Gram Panchayat member, Panchayat Samiti member, and Zilla Parishad member are to be conducted through M-2 EVMs. Along with this, it was directed to ensure the printing of ballot paper within 48 hours of the preparation of the list of contesting candidates and to mark the printing press in advance as per rules.
According to the information, the State Election Commission had also started accepting the poll schedule after calling for it from the districts. At the same time, according to sources, Panchayat elections will be held in the last phase in flood-affected areas, while Panchayat elections will start from non-flood-affected areas. Almost similar arrangements will be made in all the districts of Bihar.
The Election Commission had held a review meeting through video conferencing with the district elected office bearers regarding the elections in early August. Since then, it was believed that the commission would soon announce the elections. In this meeting, it was instructed that by August 15, they should complete all the preparations related to the Panchayat elections in any case.
