An official said that there has been no technical problem in the counting of votes so far. The commission had increased the number of polling stations this time as compared to the 2015 assembly elections to follow the rule of maintaining social distance in the wake of the Kovid-19 global epidemic. Earlier, about 65,000 polling stations were set up in the 2015 elections, which were increased to 1.06 lakh this time. As a result, electronic voting machines (EVMs) had to be used more. This time the number of voters at each polling station was fixed at 1,000 to 1,500, to ensure social distance. For this, the number of polling stations had to be increased.

Bihar Deputy Election Commissioner in charge Chandra Bhushan Kumar said, “We hope that the counting of votes will end late tonight as per the procedure.” He informed that in the assembly elections of 2015, counting of votes was done at 38 places, but this time counting of votes is being done at 55 places to ensure social distance. This time the number of tables in each hall has been reduced from 14 to seven. Bhushan informed that counting of votes will be done in 19 to 51 rounds in different assembly constituencies. Sudip Jain, Deputy Election Commissioner in charge of EVMs, while answering the question of some people regarding the reliability of EVMs, said that the machine could not be tampered with and the Supreme Court has many times justified the use of this device.
