Amazon promotes handicrafts art business, starts special initiative

New Delhi: E-commerce website Amazon India has announced to organize a ‘Handicraft Fair’ from 26 September to 10 October. In this, more than 270 crafts from different parts of the country are being displayed. More than 8 lakh artisans and artisans associated with more than 1,500 Amazon artisan sellers and 17 government emporiums are participating in it. Tantuja, Harit Khadi, Tribes India, and Dastakari Haat Committee are joining 17 Government Emporiums.

An exhibition of more than 55 thousand unique products has been put up in this Amazon’s craft fair. Customers will be able to shop in zones such as handloom zone, handicraft home decor, kitchen items, handmate toy, handcrafted festival collection.

An event was also organized in July
The objective of this virtual handicrafts fair of Amazon India is to promote and showcase the country’s heritage in the field of arts and crafts. In July, this e-commerce company organized a ‘Stand for Handmade’ initiative for 10 weeks to revive the business of these artisans and artisans.

Pranav Bhasin, director (MSME and Customer Experience) of Amazon India said that we have decided to organize the event in view of the success of earlier SAIL events and initiatives. We hope that the organization of this handicrafts fair will have a positive impact on the lives of millions of artisans and craftsmen.

Amazon India is organizing the artisan program of the last 4 years
Explain that in the year 2016 itself, Amazon India Artisan Program was organized so that all kinds of crafts of India can be brought on the online platform. So far, the company has brought over 3000 master weavers, co-operatives, artisans and government institutions under various ministries on its platform so that their goods can be sold online as well.
