Mumbai: There has been a big change at the management level in Reliance Jio Infotech Limited. It is reported that Mukesh Ambani has resigned as the director of Reliance Jio. After this, the board has now handed over the responsibility of chairman to Akash Ambani.
The board meeting of Reliance Jio was held on 27 June 2022. In which it was approved to appoint Akash Ambani as the chairman of the board. Reliance Jio Infocomm informed the stock exchanges on Tuesday. Along with this, Pankaj Mohan Pawar has been appointed as the Managing Director of the company for the next five years. Raminder Singh Gujral and KV Choudhary have been appointed as independent directors.
With Akash being given the post of chairman, Mukesh Ambani has started the process of handing over his huge business to the new generation. Talk about Mukesh Ambani, who had to face a sharp succession dispute with his younger brother Anil Ambani after the death of his father and company founder Dhirubhai Ambani in the year 2002. Mukesh Ambani had mentioned succession planning in the company for the first time on December 28.
