Violence erupted outside the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) office in Lahore on Tuesday when Mariam reached there to record her statement in the land acquisition case. Shortly thereafter, there was a clash between the PML-N workers and a heavy police team. Several PML-N activists as well as policemen and NAB officers were also injured in the clash. A case was registered against the leaders and workers of PML-N on the complaint of NAB.

The NAB said in its statement about the incident that Maryam was called “in person” to record her statement, but instead of appearing, he organized and stoned in an organized manner through PML-N activists. The newspaper Dawn quoted the statement as saying, “For the first time in 20 years, an attitude was seen against any constitutional and national institution in which not only the building’s windows were broken, but the employees were also injured.”
