LONDON: King Charles III was declared the new King of Britain on Saturday in a historic ceremony of the ‘Accession Council’. The entire ceremony was broadcast on television for the first time. The 73-year-old former Prince of Wales has been crowned after his mother and Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday. In this regard, a ceremony was held on Saturday at St James’s Palace in London to formally announce the coronation and take his oath.

King Charles III attended the ceremony with his wife, Queen Consort Camilla, and their son and heir Prince William. Prince William has been made the new Prince of Wales. King Charles was crowned at the ceremony, declaring, ‘Prince Charles Philip Arthur George has now, after the death of the Queen of our happy memory, become our King Charles III… God save the King!’

Here King Charles, personally announcing the death of the Queen, also took an oath to protect the Church of Scotland. During this, in his address, King Charles said that he has a complete understanding of his duties as King of Britain. He said, ‘I know that I will continue to get the affection and loyalty of those whose Maharaja I have been declared.’

In his address, King Charles III remembered his mother, Queen Elizabeth, saying, ‘The whole world sympathizes with me for the irreparable loss that we have all suffered. My mother set an example of lifelong love and selfless service. His reign was unmatched in dedication and loyalty. With this, he said, referring to his wife Queen Consort Camilla, I am extremely encouraged by my wife’s continued help.

At the same time, the flags bowed in mourning due to the death of the late Queen Elizabeth II was fully hoisted along with the announcement of the coronation of the new King.
