New Delhi: Government has planned to get farming done in the rugged Chambal, which is a refuge for robbers and criminals. The World Bank will help with this. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has said that there is more than 3 lakh hectares of non-cultivable rugged land, in which agricultural development will be done. Its initial project report will be presented in a month. The government claims that farming, farming, and the environment will improve in this area. People will get employment through this. Officials of the World Bank, Madhya Pradesh, and agricultural experts have agreed in principle on the project.
Tomar told that earlier the rugged development project for the Chambal region was also proposed in collaboration with the World Bank, but due to some reasons the World Bank did not agree on it. Now it has been started afresh. In this project, along with agriculture, agricultural markets, warehouses and cold storage will also be developed.
Organic farming along the Chambal River
Tomar said that there is a lot of land on the banks of Chambal River in the area where there was never cultivation. Therefore, this area will be connected in organic land which will be a big achievement. The Chambal Express will pass through here. After the preliminary report is prepared, a meeting will be held with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and further talks will be decided.
Madhya Pradesh has the highest organic area in the country, which needs to be promoted. So that organic farming can grow further. Will work with state-of-the-art technology by taking the project in mission mode.
World Bank official Adarsh Kumar said that the World Bank is keen to work in Madhya Pradesh. It is to be seen what kind of investment can be made in the districts connected with the project. World Bank official Abel Luffafa said that considering the conditions of land etc. at the regional level, the project will be considered. We can work by taking the example of other countries.
