World Water Day is celebrated every year on 22 March. Water is a very essential part of our life. Water is used for everything from cleaning to other works.

It plays an essential role in our everyday life and you can only mean this by the activity happening around you like today the first thing scientists search for on other planets is water because we live on earth. Whose color is blue only because there is water in about three-quarters of the earth.

This thing is different, 97% of the water is salty and only 3% of the water is potable, even 70 percent of the human body is water and that is why it is said that “Water is life” and giving importance to this every person. World Water Day is celebrated all over the world on 22 March. Let’s know the history and importance of ‘World Water Day’ –

History of ‘World Water Day’
In 1992 the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development decided to observe an International Day for the Survival of Drinking Water and thus the first World Water Day was observed on 22 March 1993. After this, many schemes were made all over the world regarding water conservation. Every year intellectual people of the world start working on a topic so that potable water can be saved for the coming generations.

The theme of World Water Day 2022
World Water Day is celebrated every year with a theme. This year’s theme- ‘Groundwater: Making the Invisible Visible’ which is proposed by IGRAC i.e. International Groundwater Resource Assessment Centre. It will be presented at the inaugural session of the 9th World Water Forum in Dakar, Senegal on 21 March 2022.

Every year on the occasion of ‘World Water Day’ various programs is organized. Through speeches, poems and stories, efforts are made to make people understand water conservation and its importance. Various pictures and posters are shared aimed at making people understand the importance of water.
