About 50 thousand new cases came here on Friday and 1,566 people died. Based on the report of pediatricians in Indonesia, 12.5 percent of the total cases in the country are of children. This is more than last month. During the week of July 12 alone, more than 150 children died of the corona, almost half of them were under the age of 5. Overall, Indonesia has over 3 lakh cases and 83,000 deaths.
Since the start of the Corona epidemic, more than 800 children under the age of 18 have died in Indonesia. But most of these deaths have happened in the last month. The hospitals here are overfilled with their capacity. Separate hospitals have been set up for children battling corona. About two-thirds of corona-infected people are in quarantine, which increases the chances of children getting infected.
