New Delhi: As tensions in the Middle East intensify, Israel is preparing for a forceful response to Iran’s ballistic missile attacks, heightening fears that the region could spiral into deeper chaos. Experts have described this period as the “most dangerous week of the war,” with the potential for an Israeli strike on Tehran’s nuclear facilities looming as a serious threat.

The current escalation began when Iran fired nearly 200 missiles, striking multiple locations across Israel and causing widespread damage. In retaliation, the Israeli government is weighing a decisive military response, while the United States continues to urge restraint. President Joe Biden has called for a “proportional response” to avoid further destabilization of the region, but Israeli leaders are signaling a hardline approach.

Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, responding to Biden’s appeal, firmly rejected the idea of moderation, arguing that Israel must target Iran’s nuclear infrastructure to neutralize the threat. “Iran’s actions against Israel are far more severe than any proportional retaliation,” Bennett stated in a post on social media platform X. “The mullah regime has obtained SQ10 uranium, sufficient to produce up to 10 nuclear bombs. If we don’t destroy their nuclear program now, it might be too late.”

Bennett’s warning underscores the severity of the situation, as experts believe Iran’s nuclear ambitions are advancing unchecked. According to Bennett, the international community may soon face the reality of a nuclear-armed Iran, potentially launching a test explosion in its desert regions. Such an event would, he cautions, plunge the Middle East into a “nuclear nightmare,” transforming regional security dynamics forever.

Meanwhile, in Iran, air traffic resumed Monday after temporary disruptions caused by “operational restrictions,” following the missile strikes. The resumption was confirmed by Jafar Yazarloo, spokesman for Iran’s Civil Aviation Organisation, as flights started operating as per schedule after 11:00 PM on Sunday, state media reported.

Nuclear Nightmare

With diplomatic tensions rising and military preparations underway, the region is teetering on the edge of further escalation. Israel’s potential targeting of Tehran’s nuclear sites could redefine not only the Israeli-Iranian conflict but also have far-reaching consequences across the Middle East and beyond. The next few days are critical as world powers navigate this perilous moment in global geopolitics.
