New Delhi: New Driving License applicants will be required to watch online video tutorials on safe driving practice before taking the driving test from November. The video tutorial includes details of safe driving practice as well as interviews with family members of people affected by careless driving.
Also, those who have a license and are caught in a traffic rule violation case will have to do a ‘Driver Safety Certification Course’. Those who have completed the course will have their driving license linked to Aadhaar so that the drivers can be tracked.

In 2019, about 44,666 two-wheeler drivers and people sitting with them were killed due to not wearing helmets and the number of such people is about 80 percent of all two-wheelers killed in an accident. |
Footage will be shared on not wearing a helmet
The Ministry of Road Transport has set an October 31 deadline to roll out a mechanism to share footage of two-wheeler drivers not wearing helmets while crossing the toll plaza. This footage will be shared with the local police and their challan will be made. According to the traffic police, drivers are easily caught when traffic breaks due to the installation of CCTV cameras in big cities, but CCTV cameras are almost non-existent in other parts of the country.
Only on completion of the course will you be able to apply for license
According to sources, online video tutorials for new applicants for driving licenses and detail protocols for safety certification courses for existing drivers will be given in the next few weeks in the Central Motor Vehicle Rules under the revised MV Act.
According to the information, states and organizations specializing in road safety have several video tutorials available. “There will be an integrated system for this and the applicant will not be able to apply until they have successfully completed the video tutorial. This will make them aware of the rules and they will get to know the experiences of the people suffering due to road accidents due to irresponsible drivers. ” Worldwide trends suggest that driver’s behavior is one of the leading causes of traffic accidents.
