New Delhi: Scientists and health experts around the world, including the World Health Organization (WHO), have considered the N95 Face Mask the most effective weapon for the prevention of coronavirus. In view of this, the Central Government had imposed export restrictions on its exports from India so that domestic needs can be met. Now the Center has lifted the ban on the export of N-95 masks (Revoked Ban). The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), working under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), issued a notification informing the removal of the export ban. Earlier, in August 2020, the Center had set a limit of 50 lakh units for the export of masks on the basis of Domestic Demand.

Now any quantity can be exported
It has been said by DGFT that the ban on all such masks including N-95 and FFP-2 mask (FFP-2 mask) is being lifted. Now these face masks can be exported in any quantity. Until some time ago there was a big problem regarding the supply of such masks. Even the black marketing of face masks was done at a price many times in the country. After this, the central government fixed the price control on the basis of different categories of face masks. Then its export was banned and production was encouraged. As the masks were prepared in large numbers, the government gradually increased the limit of exports. Now the government has completely removed the ban on the export of masks.

Masks can be re-used to disinfect
Actually, there came a time when even health workers had to use them again due to the shortage of N95 masks. Researchers have found a way to disinfect the N95 mask through heat and humidity to reuse it. Slow-heating the N95 masks in high relative humidity results in the SARS-COV-2 trapped inside the mask, according to researchers at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, Stanford University and the University of Texas medical branch of the Department of Energy Viruses can be disabled. According to health experts, following social distancing, applying a mask, and washing hands repeatedly can prevent the coronavirus from getting caught.
