Indore: A shameful incident has come to light in the state’s largest MY hospital. The unclaimed corpse that arrived about nine days ago was turned into a skeleton on the stretcher on which it was brought.
The staff of the post-mortem building, including the doctors, kept on coming there during this time. On smelling, the nose closed and proceeded, but no one tried to know where the smell was coming from. On Tuesday, when someone removed the sheet covered on the stretcher, a disgusting picture of the arrangement with the body was also revealed. The officials gave the same answer as every time that action would be taken against the guilty.

The body was removed immediately after the matter surfaced. No one had information about where the body was brought from, who kept it in the post mortem building. The staff definitely stated that the body was brought 9-10 days ago, only when it was in poor condition. Therefore, it was placed in the corner as unknown. The registers are now being scrutinized about whether someone had even entered the dead body or not.
Unknown bodies are handed over to the corporation or police, then how did this lapse happen
In the case of an unidentified body, the police rush him to MY Hospital for post-mortem. Its route is also maintained. After the post-mortem, the body is handed over to the corporation for cremation, but in this case, neither the post-mortem nor the Shikakhti efforts were made. In such a situation, the question arises that the dead body was brought to the hospital and how no one came to know.
Issuing notice
Hospital Superintendent Dr. PS Thakur said that we keep the unidentified body for a week. Information is being taken about whether the Municipal Corporation was called for the funeral of the dead body or not. The charge has also been given notice. Action will be taken if someone’s negligence comes to light. We have 16 freezers right now, but sometimes 21-22 dies in one day. In such a situation, we also have limited resources. We have written a letter to MGM Medical College asking for more freezers.
