New Delhi: The results of the Covid Vaccination Program, which started for adolescents of 15 to 17 years in the country on Monday, were encouraging, on the first day more than 40 lakh adolescents were vaccinated. Due to this the number of daily vaccines also increased and it was close to crossing one crore again by the end of the day. Madhya Pradesh has won in vaccinating teenagers, here about 7.5 lakh youth were vaccinated on the first day. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has set an ambitious target on January 20 to vaccinate all 48 lakh youth of this age group. People across the country enthusiastically got the vaccine.

According to the CoWin portal, there are a total of 7.4 crore youth in the age group of 15-17 in the country. About 50 lakh of them have registered to get the vaccine till Monday evening. However, many people had also reached the vaccination centers without any prior registration. Enthusiasm was seen at various centers regarding this vaccination campaign. Of the more than 90 lakh vaccinations conducted on Monday, around 39.5 lakh were adolescents.


After Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat has vaccinated around 5.5 lakh adolescents for the age group of 15-17.

At the same time, about four lakh vaccinations were done in Karnataka, 4.2 lakh in Andhra Pradesh, and about 3.5 lakh youth in Rajasthan. However, in some large states, the results of the vaccination campaign were less than expected. Of these, only 1.6 lakh vaccines could be found in Uttar Pradesh, while about 1.4 crore adolescents of this age group reside here. Uttar Pradesh has been asked to increase the vaccination. At the same time, only 1.6 lakh vaccines could be installed in Bihar. Here in Delhi also about 21,000 vaccines could be found in this age group, whereas there is more than 10 lakh youth of this group.

Madhya Pradesh government said in a statement that CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has set a big target on January 20 to give vaccines to all the eligible 48 lakh youth of the state. In MP, 8,667 centers were specially set up on Monday to vaccinate people in the age group of 15-17. This campaign was started by CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan himself from a school in the capital Bhopal.
