Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh has the status of ‘Tiger State’, but this year so far the highest number of tigers have died. That is, along with the tag of Tiger State. Till August 2021, 31 tigers have lost their lives in the state. Some of them were hunted and some died on their own.
Out of these deaths, a maximum of 18 deaths has occurred in the Tiger Reserve area. Recently, carcasses of two tigers were also found in Ratapani Century. In the case of the death of fast-drying tigers, now questions are being raised on the working style of the park management. Wildlife PCCF Alok Kumar says that yes it is true that the number of tigers in the state is increasing rapidly. He said that when tigers become more in one place, then the territorial fight starts between them. In this, the weak tiger gets injured and either leaves the area or dies. which is natural. He told that the possibilities of new areas are being explored by making a century to stop the territorial fight. So that the number of deaths of tigers can be controlled.
The Panna Tiger Reserve of Madhya Pradesh became tigerless in 2009. To increase the number of tigers here, tigers and tigresses were shifted from two different tiger reserves. About two and a half years later, in the forest in April 2012, a tigress gave birth to 4 cubs. After this, the family of tigers continued to grow here. At present, there are 31 tigers in Panna. This makes it clear that it took 10 years to increase the tiger population. Then there were 31 tigers in so many years, but 31 tigers died in just 8 months.
In the last 6 years, 170 tigers have lost their lives in Madhya Pradesh.
