New Delhi: The third phase of the Corona Vaccine program in the country will start administering doses of the vaccine to people above 18 years of age from May 1. Ahead of the third phase of the vaccination campaign, there has been an uproar over the price of the corona vaccine. To control corona vaccine, the Central Government has issued several directives for private hospitals. The Center has informed the state governments that the corona vaccine will be given to those private hospitals which will book online.

To prevent the corona vaccine from spoiling, the government has allowed those who arrive at the hospital with online registration to get the vaccine. The government is trying to vaccinate as many people as possible and prevent its wastage. Amidst the commotion over the price of Corona vaccine, Union Health Minister Dr. Harshvardhan said that corona vaccine would have only 50 percent access to the open market. Dr. Harshvardhan said that the price of vaccine can be reduced according to the demand and supply.

Earlier, announcing policy changes in the third phase of the vaccination campaign, the Center had said that manufacturers of corona vaccines should be transparent about the price of vaccines and must supply 50% corona vaccines to the states.

States can now buy vaccines directly from manufacturers
Union Health Minister Dr. Harshvardhan said that under the new policy of corona vaccine, states can now buy vaccines directly from corona vaccine manufacturers. They are even completely free to negotiate prices based on volume.

States will get the vaccine at 400 and private hospitals at 600
Explain that Bharat Biotech has announced to sell Covaccin for private hospitals at Rs. 1200 per dose, the vaccine will be given to state government hospitals at Rs. 600 per dose. That is Rs.2400 and Rs.1200 for a full dose of the vaccine respectively. Explain that it has been decided to sell the Covishield vaccine of Serum Institute of India to the state governments at Rs. 400 and to private hospitals at Rs. 600.
