Chennai: A private firecrackers factory exploded in Sattur in Virudhunagar district of Tamilnadu on Friday. In which 11 people have died, more than 36 people have been injured. The injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The Chief Minister of the state has announced a grant of Rs 3 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh for the seriously injured.
According to the information received, some chemicals were being mixed to make fireworks in this private factory located in the village of Achchankulam. During this time there was a fire, the sky echoed with loud explosions. To extinguish the fire in the factory, ten fire engines from different places have reached the spot and extinguished the fire.
Prime Minister expressed grief
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “It is sad to see a fire in a firecracker factory in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu. In this hour of grief, my thoughts are with the bereaved families. I hope that the injured recover soon. Officers are working on the ground to help the affected. ”
Prime Minister’s office announced compensation
Compensation has been announced for those killed in the explosion in the fireworks factory in Tamil Nadu. While giving the information, the Prime Minister’s Office said that, two lakh rupees will be given from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund to those who died in this blast, while it has been announced to give 50 thousand rupees to the injured.
Arrange for treatment of the injured
State Chief Minister Palanisamy said, “I have instructed officials and medical experts to provide best treatment to the injured. I asked the local administration to ensure that the families of the deceased and the injured were informed and necessary arrangements made. Also, the district authorities have been asked to inspect such industries on a regular basis. ”
